How would you find the quality of the water in this stream?
Show students a digital video of the river or body of water that you are going to use for the activity. Ask the students to discuss in small groups how they would go about trying to find out about the quality of the water in this body of water. After reports from each group, explain that in this activity they will be collecting data on the river and the water in the river, and will be sharing with each other, and with others by posting their results on the Internet.
